Tea Party

Vorige week zaterdag vierde ik eindelijk mijn verjaardag. Ik was op 5 augustus al jarig, maar door drukte en vakantie was het er nog niet van gekomen. Met als thema Tea Party.

Met handgemaakte en per post verstuurde uitnodigingen, met mooi vintage servies (lang leve de kringloopwinkels!) en met lekkere zelfgemaakte drankjes en hapjes.

Inspiratie vond ik in het boek "Vintage Tea Party" en via Pinterest. Met succes, het was een geslaagd feestje!

Jarig

Ik was jarig in de zomervakantie en aangezien we meestal weg zijn op mijn verjaardag (5 augustus) vier ik het bijna nooit. Doordat de schoolvakantie dit jaar vroeg viel, waren we al terug van vakantie en besloot ik mijn verjaardag wel een keer te vieren, ook wel gezellig! Ik vind het erg leuk om taarten te bakken, maar wilde deze keer wat anders maken. Dus maakte ik eenpersoons taartjes in een glaasje, voor ieder wat wils en het zag er nog eens superleuk uit ook (van links naar rechts monchoutaart met aardbeien, vruchtencrumble en tiramisu).

Reunion

We had a little reunion last weekend. My childhood friend Jose, who now lives in Australia, is in Holland for a month. At the moment she stays on a campsite with her husband and kids and we joined them this weekend together with some other friends.
We really had a good time. 6 grown-ups, 6 kids, swimming, playing, cooking, snacking, BBQing, wine, beer, sunshine, rain, chatting, lauching, oh, how I would love her to live more close to me.... (the picture is from the BBQ, preparing some hamburgers with bread for the kids).

Sunny Days

What a perfect easter! The weather was good, the company too!
We had a very nice easter brunch on Sunday, sitting outside in our friends garden, eating, talking and enjoying the sun.
I made these colourful placemats and coasters for them as a thank you gift.

On Monday, the boys went searching for easter eggs (in their pyjama's) in our garden.

Ready for Carnaval!

Here are the costumes that we (my sister and me) made for the boys for the annual Carnaval party in the South of Holland. My sister made the lion costume for Karel and I made the grey wolf costume for Teun. They celebrate carnaval on school, child day care centre and of course this weekend in our city Oeteldonk (the name for 's-Hertogenbosch during Carnaval).

Crafty friend

These pictures are from my best friend Jose. She is Dutch (we used to be in primary school together), but she lives in Australia already for 8 years now. She is married to an Australian guy and they have two kids, a boy and a girl. Once in a while, she comes back to Holland to visit family and friends and when we see each other, it is like we have never been apart, very special....
She likes crafting as much as I do and now she made these cute wallets. She is going to sell them in a boutique in Lorne, the town where she lives. I think they will be sold out in no time.
