Odd & Woolly

This weekend, a very sweet package arrived via the mail. A blue felted bag with polkadots. It was a present from Naomi of Odd and Woolly, because I left her a message to participate with Pay it Forward. If you are interested to participate in the Pay if Forward action as well, please leave me a message (I have one give-away left).

Another try....

Coming weekend, I will be on another annual fair. This time in the beautiful village of Ravenstein. Hope this will work out a bit better compared to the previous one. At least the people who visit here have to pay a little entrance fee to get in (and get a free coffee!) and there is a special section for hobby/handicrafts. Hopefully this will bring people which are a bit more interested in my stuff.
I made some brooches from felt and will make some other products this week to show and sell on this fair. By the way, the fabric on which the brooches are displayed was bought in Copenhagen.

Lucky girl

I was a very lucky girl last weekend. I visited Copenhagen with my sister and we had a great time. Copenhagen is a very friendly city and if you love to shop for home decorating and (kids)clothes, you are just in the right place! We started on Friday morning with breakfast with coffee latte and juice.

After this good start of course some shopping, I bought another two Smafolk t-shirts for the boys and a red one with an owl on it.

For myself, I bought two mugs/vases (and some other stuff: oilcloth, fabrics).

During the evening we went to visit Tivoli, which was very crowded because of a show of a Danish celebrity that night. But also very nice with lights all over the place (and hard to make a good picture of, LOL).

Saturday we did a city walk and discoverd a lot of colourful places in the city.

In the afternoon we took a train to visit the Louisiana museum. This museum is situated in the north of Copenhagen and has a collection of modern art and next to this a beautiful garden with sculptures, looking out onto the sea.

Before we left on Sunday, we rushed to see the little mermaid, which is of course something you have to see when you are in Copenhagen (and is a very touristic place with lots of buses).

Annual fair

I did not have the time to download the pictures of the annual market that I attended two weeks ago and tell a bit more about it.
Here is a picture, with my sister in the back.

Looks good, right? We definitely had the best looking booth of the whole fair! But that didn't help us sell much products unfortunately... We were standing next to a country-line-dance demonstration and on the opposite side of us, there was a booth with fake CROCS. Ahah, both not my "cup-of-tea" (understatement), but quite representative for the people that visited the fair. And certainly not the people that would buy my stuff. We had fun and a good day anyway!

Pay it forward

I heard about "Pay it forward" via Odd and Wooly. Pay it forward is a wonderful thing that is going on in the blogger world. Once some one has payed it forward to you, you pic three people to pay it forward to. Here in this blogger world, you pick the first three people that comment your blog. Here's the quote for the rules:

“I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I don’t know what that gift will be yet and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but you will receive it within 365 days, that is my promise! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.”

I look forward to making some one smile soon!

Please leave a message with you e-mail adress and Pay it Forward by posting this message on your own weblog. Feel free to leave a message as well if you are living outside the Netherlands.

VANMARIEKE elsewhere

How very nice is it to find out that other bloggers used the fabrics that I have sold to them in a cool project. So, Kristel (who is a actually a very crafty cousin of mine) from Vlijtig, used the Baboushka fabric to make a lovely reversible headband for her daughters with (with reference to the tutorial as well, so check it out!).

And Lisette of Little Z, made some fantastic magnets from the Apple & pear fabric.

She also used the Tea Time fabric to display the beautiful earrings on that she bought recently.

Thanks, ladies!

Work in progress

I am working very hard the last few weeks to make products for a annual fair in a small village nearby that I will attend coming Sunday. I hope to make some good publicity there for my little company (and sell some products of course).
Sometimes I have a little help:

Rainy night....

I made these beautiful pictures this weekend after a rainy night in the forest.

We have a winner!

We had an official moment this morning.... I wrote the names of the people that were interested in a fabric cardholder on a paper, we folded them and Teun took one of the folded papers out of a bowl.

And the winner is:

Jose, Congratulations! A fabric cardholder will be on it's way to you shortly.
