Kids holiday
This week, Teun has holidays from school. Time for fun! And for him, that is going to Ikea. Yesterday we went there, together with a friend of mine and her two kids as well. They had great fun playing in the "kids paradise", especially in the ball bath.
For us that meant time for some shopping (together with Karel, because he is too young for the kids paradise). I bought fabric (!) and some plastic containers for my work space to store smaller pieces of fabric, ribbons and buttons in.
When we returned home, Teun wanted to bake cupcakes, so we did. Decorated after baking with sugar glazing and little spring sprinkles (butterflies, hearts, eggs, flowers).

Ready for Carnaval!
Here are the costumes that we (my sister and me) made for the boys for the annual Carnaval party in the South of Holland. My sister made the lion costume for Karel and I made the grey wolf costume for Teun. They celebrate carnaval on school, child day care centre and of course this weekend in our city Oeteldonk (the name for 's-Hertogenbosch during Carnaval).

Yarnbombing
Knitters around the world have begun wrapping their huge woolly creations around public property like trees, street signs and lampposts.
One of the most ambitious pieces of work saw a woman spend an entire week covering a disused single decker bus in colourful swatches.
The phenomenon, called Yarnbombing, is thought to have originated in the US but knitters are now beginning to cover British streets in woollen ‘tags’.
This makes life a lot more colourful, right? You can read the whole article here.

New shop
My new webshop is online!
A few weeks ago, my old website crashed... It was still online, but I was not able to add or remove anything. I had two options: rebuilding the old one (which I was not too happy with in terms of user friendliness and layout) or building a new one. I chose for the last option and I am very happy that I did!
I invite you to come and take a look to see what's new:
* you can click on the photo's to enlarge them;
* when you order a product and return to the store, you come back to the same page as where you left;
* great new fabrics and ribbons;
* the webshop is now available in Dutch and English and we ship worldwide!
To celebrate my new site/shop, you will receive a 10% discount for all orders above 15 euro from now until february 28th, 2009. Simply type the word "newshop09" in the coupon code area at checkout to receive your discount (sorry, previous orders do not apply).

What to make with all those fabrics (2)
I received great pictures from some of my creative customers and I thought it would be nice to share them with you. I am always very pleased to see what other people are making with "my" fabrics.
This lamp was made by Anne for her sons bedroom. What a great idea, I am sure that my boys would love this too!
These pictures were sent to me by Anneke. She made a bag to store French bread in for her son and daugther in law as a christmas present.
The picture of this cute horse was sent to me by Karin. The horse was made by her creative mum, An, for her newborn daughter Hannah.
And last but certainly not least, a very cool apron, made by Ingrid. I love the way how she combined all the fabrics. Very colourful!

4th of the 4th
I have been tagged by Maureen from Jikke's and by Heidi from Heidi's. The instruction is to post the 4th picture of the 4th folder on your computer and tag four other bloggers to do the same.
Okay here's the picture:
This is Teun, about two years ago, celebrating "carnaval". A strange tradition every year in the South of Holland, people dressed in funny clothes, drinking lots of beers and dancing on typical "carnaval" music (it is really difficult to explain what it is, you should come and see this for yourself!).
Anyway, in a few weeks time it is "carnaval" again. I am making for Teun a wolf costume so maybe I should make a Red Riding Hood costume for myself to accompany him.
I would like to tag:
Lisette from Little-Z
Maartje from Mamutopia
Tizzalicious and Chimene from The Art of a Dutch Vink. Hope that you all have fun with this tag.
